Our Local Partnerships

Living in community extends to partnering with organizations in our own community that are making an amazing impact on the people in our community.

ABOUT EVERY MEAL

  • Every Meal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to fight child hunger. We focus on filling the food gaps children face on weekends, extended breaks, and summer when they’re not able to access school meal programs. Through our multiple food gap programs, we provide children and families experiencing food insecurity with access to good food at more than 500 locations in Minnesota.

  • Grace has been a faithful partner of EveryMeal for 7 years, beginning with distributing food for Little Canada Elementary school for 7 years. Last year, due to such a faithful volunteer base, Grace expanded that partnership to include Bruce Vento Elementary. Every Friday morning, volunteers gather at the schools and place the meal bags into backpacks for students to bring home to their families.

In the past 7 years, volunteers have passed out over 12,000 meal bags

ABOUT CARE PORTAL

  • CarePortal is a technology platform that connects vulnerable children and families to people who have something to give. Social workers uncover the needs, and CarePortal makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond.

  • In April 2024, Grace Church became a responding church for CarePortal. As a responding church, members who have been through CarePortal training are placed on a team and can respond to needs within the community as they are able. Within the first three months of launching, Grace teams responded to 15 needs within the community.

ABOUT COMPASSION CONNECT

  • Dr. Gary Tibbett and Milan Homola founded Compassion Connect in 2006, believing that God’s desire was for his Church to unite in service. So they developed practical models to equip local churches to work together to meet the physical and spiritual needs of people in their neighborhoods. With the help of many faithful volunteers, their vision initially spread across Portland and surrounding areas through our Compassion Clinic Model.

  • In November 2023, Grace joined with four other local churches to put on the Compassion Clinic in Roseville. Grace plans to continue working with those churches for the compassion clinic, providing for health needs right within the community.
